Daily Health Tips
This is a lazy way to lose weight. It burns hundreds of calories even if you are just sitting down on your computer. It also increases your metabolism which helps in weight loss

For Recipe. You Need:
2 tsp Honey
1 tsp Cinnamon
1cup/ 8oz/ 237 ml Water

Directions:
1) Use 1 part of cinnamon to 2 parts of raw honey. 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp honey is recommended.
2) Boil 1 cup/8oz/237 ml of water.
3) Pour the boiling water on cinnamon. Cover it and let it steep until it is warm enough to drink.
4) Add honey when the water is cool/warm. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
5) Drink 1/2 of this before going to bed. The other half should be covered and refrigerated and drink it in the morning. Do not re-heat it in the morning.

Do not add any flavors in this mixture. And this recipe only works if you drink it on empty stomach.

No Flour, Oil, White Sugar Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Flourless Cookie

You won’t believe it!!!!!! I found this recipe on Facebook and I have made them and they taste Wonderful!!!
NO FLOUR, NO OIL, NO WHITE SUGAR
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups canned* chickpeas, well-rinsed and patted dry with a paper towel
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons (165 grams) natural peanut butter (can use PB2 from gym to make healthier, check your labels)
1/4 cup (80 grams) honey (agave would be amazing too!)
1 teaspoon baking powder**
a pinch of salt if your peanut butter doesn’t have salt in it
1/2 cup (90 grams) chocolate chips

* My can was a 400 gram can, 240 grams without the water, and I used all but a few tablespoons

** If you need grain-free baking powder, you can use 1 part cream of tartar + 1 part baking soda + 2 parts arrowroot.

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F / 175°C.

Combine all the ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, in a food processor and process until very smooth. Make sure to scrape the sides and the top to get the little chunks of chickpeas and process again until they’re combined.

Put in the chocolate chips and stir it if you can, or pulse it once or twice. The mixture will be very thick and sticky.

With wet hands, form into 1 1/2″ balls. Place onto a piece of parchment paper. If you want them to look more like normal cookies, press down slightly on the balls. They don’t do much rising. Bake for about 10 minutes.

Yields about fourteen 1 1/2″ cookie dough balls.
*** Don’t even try with regular peanut butter! They’ll come out oily. You MUST use natural peanut butter.

Raw Almond Milk “Kefir” Yoghurt

image

VegetarianVeganRawDairy FreeGluten FreeEgg FreeBody EcologySoy FreeBlender

1 cup raw almonds soaked for 8 – 12 hours
7 or 8 cups filtered water
1 tsp probiotic powder or 4 good quality vegetarian, dairy free probiotic capsules
alcohol-free liquid stevia (optional to taste)
Rinse and drain your almonds thoroughly.
Blend almonds and water in your Vitamix for about 2 minutes until nuts are completely pulverized.
Strain the milk with a nut milk bag into a large glass bowl.
Add the contents of about 4 probiotic capsules and gently stir with a wooden spoon. Do not use any metal implements as this can damage the delicate probiotics.
Cover the bowl with a breathable cloth (I use a flour sac cloth) and allow to stand at room temperature (about 70 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 12 hours. You may need more time depending on how stable and warm the environment is. You can wrap the bowl with a towel to insulate the bowl for better results if you have a cold room temperature.
After about 12 hours, your mixture should look like a yellow “almond water” with a thick layer of scum/fat/foam on top, and smell fermented like yoghurt. If there is just a thin layer and not much odor, it is not quite done.
Gently skim this fat off with a spoon and keep for use in smoothies and puddings.
Strain the remaining liquid with a fine mesh strainer.
Optional: Reserve about ½ cup of the kefir to infuse the next batch instead of using capsules. I make make about 3 batches this way. Then I start over with fresh capsules again.
Store the kefir in sealed glass mason jar in the fridge for up to a week.
You can flavour and sweeten to taste with alcohol free vanilla extract, liquid stevia, cinnamon, low sugar fruit etc or just leave plain and add 1 cup to smoothies. This is what I do.
NOTE: Kefir is potent. Start with ¼ cup a day until your system can tolerate it. Then consume up to 1 cup a day. Kefir has a natural laxative effect, and too much will really get things moving!
Makes about 5 – 6 cups kefir. About a week’s supply for one person.

THIS IS THE SON OF MY HUSBANDS CO-WORKER
I have met this little guy last year when he was in remission but right now he is in a lot of pain and his prognosis isn’t good. He has a rare fast growing incurable cancer. The families bills are stacking up and each day is a challenge. Even though his blood counts are really low they choose to take him home in hopes to help keep his as comfortable as possible.
Thank you,

ABOUT
Please help little 8 year old Christopher with his ongoing battle with Cancer.
Please consider donating 🙂
Description
Please take a moment and imagine yourself as a parent; you are told by Memorial Sloan Kettering (#1 Cancer Hospital in the US) that the doctors have exhausted all options for your 8 year old son. That all they can do now is make him comfortable and help prolong his life.
In August, Little Christopher Di Martino’s parents were hit with these terrifying words. As parents, they did exactly what any other loving parent would do – they didn’t accept it and started to search for alternatives.
In 2009, Christopher Di Martino was diagnosed with a Stage 3 Tumor (Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma) in his calf. This incredibly rare cancer was delivered with a very bleak prognosis since the Cancer was so aggressive. Christopher was treated at Hackensack Hospital in New Jersey. They performed surgery, removed the tumor and 3 year old Christopher endured a full round of chemo.

Good fortune and great results came from the surgery and treatment, little Christopher was Cancer free for 6 months and he lived as a normal child would live. He was happy, healthy and ready to be a kid again. His friends and family thought their prayers were answered until November of 2010 when a larger tumor returned to the same calf and again, Christopher had to have another surgery and undergo treatment. This time the family thought it was best to bring him to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. Now at the age of 4 he was still the same happy kid, with a huge smile that always thought of others first. Christopher the fighter was ready to kick Cancer’s butt one more time!
And he did just that, another 6 months and Christopher was in remission – he’s a fighter and a warrior. With a clean bill of health, he started his childhood back up again; swimming, playing T-Ball, going to the museum and the movies not having to worry about germs or infections. He was a normal kid again – his mom and dad had to deal with the same things all parents deal with; Christopher fighting with his younger brother over a toy, making sure Christopher was polite and had manners, learning his letters and patterns but all the while thinking what’s next? Will this horrible disease return?
Sadly, in June 2012 an image demonstrated a clinically undetectable recurrence and highly suspicious right-side pulmonary nodule. Christopher’s Parents met with their doctor at MSKCC to discuss in forthright terms the grave prognosis for long-term survival in a child with now this twice recurrent radio resistant disease would respond to additional chemotherapy. Christopher now 6 and fully aware of what’s been going on started another round of chemo, this time orally with the hopes the tumor would shrink…
Christopher’s pet scans have been nothing but a blessing from the last cycle of chemo in 2012 until August of this year. The doctor’s at MSKCC had done a pet scan 3 months prior in May, the pet scan came back clear. As of August 2012, Christopher’s pet scans showed 2 large, aggressive tumors in new area of his body. A 32 millimeter tumor was found in his thigh as well as a very abnormal sized tumor on his spine wrapping around to his ribs. Two new tumors that developed within a 3 month span is beyond aggressive – MSKCC Doctors told Christopher’s parents that they will do what they can to extend his life but they’ve exhausted all chemo options – his body is now resistant.

Christopher’s parent’s Erica and Chris went searching for an alternative. They’ve found that something in a non FDA approved experimental drug. This is entirely experimental – it’s made Christopher weak and he’s in pain every day but still fighting.
Christopher goes back and forth to the hospital every day. Gas and tolls, doctor visits (which are no longer covered by insurance due to the “experimental drug” and every day expenses are weighing heavily on this one income family. It’s hard enough worrying about Christopher – having to worry about bills shouldn’t be on their minds either.

We’re asking that you take a few minutes to think about opening your heart and donating a few dollars to help the family. We understand there are a lot of Facebook scams out there and stories that aren’t true (we wish with all our hearts this wasn’t true.) Please make a donation to the family $5, $10 whatever you can spare. We’ve provided a TAX ID which is under Christopher’s name.
Please help little 8 year old Christopher with his ongoing battle with Cancer.

http://www.fitnesshashtag.com

Ingredients:
large portobello mushroom caps, gills removed
cherry tomatoes, halved
shredded or fresh mozzarella ( although I’ve tried both I prefer the dryer shredded version for this because of the moisture factor seeping out)
fresh basil
olive oil

Instructions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with foil for easy clean up.
Brush the caps and rims with olive oil on each mushroom.
Slice cherry or grape tomatoes in half, place in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, add chopped basil, salt and pepper. Let it sit for a few minutes to let the flavors meld.
Place your cheese on the bottom of the mushroom cap, spoon on the tomato basil mixture and bake until cheese melts and mushrooms are cooked but not overcooked.

Southwestern Stuffed Spaghetti Squash

1379248_218461938277781_300539671_n
http://www.fitnesshashtag.com

Ingredients:
* 1 spaghetti squash
* 2 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
* 1/2 red onion, chopped
* 3 garlic cloves, minced
* 1 jalapeno pepper, minced (leave seeds in for more heat)
* 1 red bell pepper, chopped
* 1 Tbs. ground cumin
* 1 Tbs. Mexican oregano
* 1 Tbs. chili powder
* 1 can black beans (drained and rinsed)
* 1 cup frozen corn, thawed
* coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
* 1/2 cup freshly torn cilantro, plus more for garnish
* 1 lime
* 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375.

Roast squash on a baking sheet for 50 minutes. Let cool another 30 minutes, then cut in half. Spoon out the seeds, then using a fork, scrape up the flesh, making the “spaghetti.” Isn’t that cute?

Heat oil in a medium skillet. Add the onion, garlic, jalapeno pepper and red bell pepper. Sauté 2 minutes. Add cumin, Mexican oregano, chili powder and a good pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté another minute. Add the beans, corn and cilantro. Stir to combine. Squeeze in the lime juice and give one last stir.

Add in half the “spaghetti” to the bean mixture and stir to combine. Taste and season accordingly. I probably tossed in a little more salt at this point.

Switch oven to broil.

Stuff each squash half with the mixture and top with grated cheese.

Stick it back under the broiler until the cheese melts and gets all brown and bubbly, baby.

Garnish with a little bit of cilantro and enjoy your life.

*I used only half of the spaghetti squash as it was A LOT. I saved the rest for lunch the next day.*

15-Minute ANYTIME, ANYWHERE WORKOUT

WORK OUT ANY TIME
The 15-Minute Anytime, Anywhere Workout

PUBLISHED: OCTOBER 14, 2013 | BY CAITLIN CARLSON

You don’t need a pricey new fitness class to shake up your routine. Work out any time, in any place, with this total-body plan—which uses nothing but a household hand towel—created by Melissa Paris, a New York City–based personal trainer. “The key to seeing continued results and avoiding plateaus is to keep challenging your body in different ways, whether that’s with new moves, a new environment, or new equipment,” says Paris. “Incorporating a towel into your routine is a no-cost and efficient way to take your workout to the next level.”

That’s because with every exercise, the towel provides either friction (as in the lateral lunge) or tension (as in the seated oblique twist) to help engage muscles that would otherwise be missing the action.

So rather than using the towel to dry off, use it to break a sweat. Complete the exercises as instructed, moving from one to the next with little or no rest in between. Stop for 30 to 60 seconds at the end (if needed), then repeat up to two more times.

Innovate your workouts with Shape-Up Shortcuts and get a smoking-hot body in shorter workouts!

MOVE 1Leg Curl

Lie faceup on the floor, knees bent and both heels on a towel; lift your hips until your body forms a straight line from knees to shoulders (a). Slide your heels away from you as far as you can without dropping your hips (b). Pause, then return to start. That’s one rep. Do 15.

MOVE 2Seated Oblique Twist

Sit on the floor and hold the towel taut between your hands, arms straight and extended at shoulder height; lean back and raise your feet about a foot off the floor, keeping your core tight and knees bent (a). Pull the right end of the towel toward the floor, rotating your shoulders and torso (b). Pause, then rotate back to center and repeat on the other side. That’s one rep. Do 20.

MOVE 3Lateral Lunge

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, hands on hips, and your right foot on a towel (a). Bend your left knee and push your hips back as you slide your right foot out to the side as far as you can (b). Pause, then pull that foot back to start. That’s one rep. Do 15, then switch sides and repeat.

MOVE 4Superman Press

Lie facedown on the floor, chest lifted, and hold a towel taut between your hands in front of your shoulders, elbows bent (a). Press the towel away from you until your arms are straight (b). Return to start. That’s one rep. Do 20.

SHAKEOLOGY IS PACKED WITH SUPERFOODS.

What’s a Superfood? Superfood is the collective name given to the most nutrient-dense foods on our planet. Superfoods go beyond meeting basic nutritional needs; instead, they have high concentrations of multiple nutrients, such as antioxidants, phytonutrients, or adaptogens, that work together to support the immune system and help fight aging.*

PROTEIN and ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS can help you:*

  • Build and repair muscles
  • Reduce hunger and food cravings
  • Promote ideal blood sugar levels
  • Support brain function to help promote alert thinking and a positive mood
  • Promote healthy skin, hair, and nails

INTRODUCING VEGAN SHAKEOLOGY’S NEW COMPLETE PROTEIN SOURCE.

NO SOY! In our vegan Shakeology formulas, we blended brown rice protein with pea protein to create a complete protein source with high levels of lysine and methionine. These two very important amino acids are often limited in most plant-based diets. Along with brown rice protein and pea protein, we also blended in sacha inchi, chia, quinoa, flax, amaranth, and spirulina. There is absolutely no soy protein used in any Shakeology formulations. Though crafting this proprietary plant-based protein blend might sound easy, it truly is a rare feat.

Tropical Strawberry and Chocolate Vegan Shakeology Shakes             Sacha Inchi Organic Vegetable

SUPERFOOD, SUPER PROTEIN: SACHA INCHI.

Not only is sacha inchi a great source of protein, it’s also a superfood. Which makes this Shakeology ingredient twice as good for you.

  • An organic vegetable protein that’s easily assimilated
  • Naturally rich in good fats and fiber, which help control your appetite
  • Helps promote the body’s natural anti-inflammatory response
  • Has a high concentration of omega fatty acids—providing a perfect balance of omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9

SHAKEOLOGY NON-VEGAN FORMULAS USE WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATES INSTEAD OF CONCENTRATES.

If you’re thinking to yourself right now, “Why isolates? What’s the difference between an isolate and a concentrate? And why should I care?” keep reading.

  • Whey protein is a high-quality complete protein with rich amounts of all the    essential and branched-chain amino acids.
  • Isolates are purer than concentrates, containing 90% or more protein.    Concentrates contain between 29% and 89% protein.
  • Whey protein isolates are the purest form of whey protein, which is why they’re    assimilated so quickly and efficiently into the body.
  • Isolates contain very little, if any, fat and lactose.
  • Isolates are a great choice if you’re lactose intolerant, or if you experience bloating    or other problems associated with concentrates.

Women Drinking non-Vegan Shakeology

SO WHY DRINK VEGAN SHAKEOLOGY IF YOU’RE NOT VEGAN?

Did you know that replacing one meal a day with plant-based proteins can help you:*

  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Have fewer digestive issues
  • Feel lighter and more energetic

And you don’t have to follow a 100% vegan diet to enjoy the incredible health benefits that come with eating more plant-based proteins. All it takes is one vegan Shakeology a day to feel a HUGE difference.

ANTIOXIDANTS

  • Nutrients in foods that slow down the oxidation of our bodies
  • Protect your body from free radical damage
  • Help promote the body’s natural inflammatory response*

Antioxidants help protect the body from “free radicals” which cause cellular damage.

Free radicals are natural by-products that cells produce. The way free radicals damage your body is similar to how oxygen in the air rusts exposed metal on a car. If you don’t have enough antioxidants to absorb free radicals in your body, they overwhelm your cells, oxidizing and destroying them. Cellular damage is now known to lead to all chronic illnesses, including inflammation, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, and even dementia. The good news is, you can rid your body of these destructive little devils by flooding it with antioxidants from potent whole-food-based superfoods like Shakeology. Antioxidants absorb free radicals and shed them from your body. Helping keep you strong and healthy.

TWO OF THE MANY EXTREMELY POWERFUL ANTIOXIDANTS IN SHAKEOLOGY INCLUDE:

Camu-Camu – Powerful Antioxidant Superfood from Peru

Camu-Camu

This superfood from Peru has the highest concentration of vitamin C of any food on the planet. In fact, it has 60 times more vitamin C than an orange. It’s energizing, helps promote a strong immune system, and keeps your gums, skin, and eyes healthy. And if that’s not enough, camu-camu also may help increase serotonin in the brain. The more serotonin you have, the happier you tend to be.

Goji Berry – Powerful Antioxidant

Goji Berry

Rich in vitamin A, this nutritionally dense little fruit has played a vital role in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. It contains 19 amino acids (including the 8 that are essential for life), has more vitamin C than an orange, and is packed with immense amounts of beta-carotene—more than carrots.

PHYTONUTRIENTS

  • Nutrients derived from plants that are believed to be necessary for sustaining human life
  • Promote a strong immune system*
  • Believed to slow down aging
  • Help detoxify and alkalize the body*

Phytonutrients are the active elements found in fruits,             vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, and teas.

Strawberries and Almonds All the green superfoods in Shakeology contain phytonutrients that are known to promote a healthy immune system, may slow down aging, and help to detoxify and alkalize the body. Chlorophyll is the green pigment molecule in plants that’s responsible for absorbing the sun’s energy used in the photosynthesis process. Chlorophyll may detoxify and purify the blood and liver, help build red blood cells, and aid in tissue repair. The alkaline nature of phytonutrients helps neutralizes the acidity in your body that typically comes from things like eating overcooked meat or processed deli meat, and drinking diet sodas. An acidic environment in the body may lead to disease. In laboratory tests, phytonutrients have shown promise in helping prevent a wide variety of degenerative conditions.              Studies suggest that the natural mix of phytonutrients you get from whole-plant sources is more effective than taking them individually as nutritional supplements. Many of Shakeology’s fruit and vegetable sources have been chosen for their high concentration of phytonutrients, including flavonoids, polyphenols, anthocyanins, and catechins. These substances are known to have antioxidant effects, promote the body’s natural anti-inflammatory response, and help repair and rebuild cells.

SHAKEOLOGY IS PACKED WITH TONS OF PHYTONUTRIENTS, INCLUDING THESE 3 SUPERSTARS:

Moringa – Nutrient-rich Superfood with Phytonutrients

Moringa

Moringa is a nutrient-rich superfood that’s packed with more vitamin A than carrots, more calcium than milk, more iron than spinach, more vitamin C than oranges, and more potassium than bananas. No wonder moringa is considered to be one of the most nutrient-rich plants on earth. Moringa has   natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and is known to promote energy, vitality, athletic performance, and weight loss, while boosting the immune system and protecting against disease.

Spirulina – High Protein Superfood with Phytonutrients

Spirulina

This high-protein blue-green algae superfood can help boost your immune system, as well as  regulate cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Spirulina is one of the few plant sources of vitamin B12, and provides high concentrations of amino acids, chelated minerals, pigmentations, rhamnose sugars (complex natural plant sugars), trace elements, and enzymes—all in an easily assimilable form.

Chlorella – Blood Cleansing Superfood with Phytonutrients

Chlorella

Chlorella is a blue-green algae superfood that has an amazing ability to cleanse the blood, digestive system, and liver of toxins and heavy metals. It regulates blood sugar, helps lower cholesterol, promotes healthy blood pressure, heals wounds, enhances the immune system, and battles free radicals. Chlorella also contains high concentrations of iron and B-complex vitamins.

ADAPTOGENS

  • Promote a strong immune system
  • Help increase energy
  • Protect the body from stress
  • Help balance endocrine hormones and the immune system

Adaptogens are special herbs that grow in harsh climates and conditions, at high elevations, atop mountains where              the soil is rocky and oxygen in the air is thin. Because these plants have to adapt to harsh conditions, they have highly              concentrated nutrients that can help your body cope with stress, provide energy, and maintain a strong immune system. Shakeology has a total of 9 adaptogens. Which is more than any other shake out there.

HERE ARE JUST 4 OUT OF THE 9 ADAPTOGEN SUPERSTARS:

Maca Root – Adaptogen

Maca Root

Maca root is a rare and powerful member of the radish family that contains almost 60 phytonutrients. It helps increase energy and endurance. Promotes memory, learning, and mental ability. Helps strengthen the endocrine system and may promote a healthy libido.

Ashwagandha – Adaptogen

Ashwagandha

This difficult-to-pronounce, yet potent herb, has been used in holistic healing for thousands of years. Known to provide support for a healthy immune system, this herb helps strengthen cognitive functions like learning, memory, and reaction time. It combats stress and can help provide a healthy mood and feeling of well-being. It also helps the body achieve ideal blood sugar and optimal cholesterol levels. As a powerful adaptogen, it helps with brain cell regeneration and promoting the body’s natural anti-inflammatory response.

Schisandra – Adaptogen

Schisandra

This ancient Chinese herb has                      been used for healing purposes for                      more than 2,000 years. It helps                       promote ideal immune health and                        optimal energy levels for better                         physical performance and endurance.                          It also helps the body achieve ideal                           blood sugar levels and healthy                            blood pressure.

Astragalus – Adaptogen

Astragalus

Considered as one of the most                  important herbs in traditional Chinese                   medicine, astragalus helps to maintain                    a healthy immune system, as well as                     helping protect the body against                      physical, mental, and emotional                       stress. It contains high amounts of                        antioxidants, which protect cells against free radical damage. Plus it has nutrients that                         promote a healthy immune and respiratory system                          throughout the year, especially during the winter months.

PREBIOTICS, PROBIOTICS and DIGESTIVE ENZYMES

  • Support a healthy intestinal tract
  • Aid in digestion
  • Help promote regularity
  • Help increase the absorption of nutrients

PREBIOTICS are naturally occurring undigestible carbohydrates, which are found in high-fiber foods and feed the “good” bacteria living in your intestines. Prebiotics, in combination with probiotics, are needed to help keep your              intestines healthy. Think of prebiotics as the “food” that fuels the growth of probiotics, or good bacteria, in your intestines to help maintain good intestinal health and healthy digestion, and increase the ability to absorb nutrients from the food you eat. If your body can extract more nutrients from nutritious food, you may feel less hungry and won’t eat as much. This helps with weight loss!

ONE KEY PREBIOTIC IN SHAKEOLOGY IS:

Yacon Root – Prebiotic

Yacon Root
  • Has the highest concentration of prebiotics of any plant in the world
  • May help to reduce cholesterol levels
  • Supports a strong immune system
  • Promotes the growth of friendly bacteria in the intestines

PROBIOTICS are strains of live good bacteria that help with the digestive process. They assist the body in absorbing nutrients and minerals, bring an overall balance to the digestive tract, and help support the immune system.

ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL STRAINS OF PROBIOTICS IS:

Bacillus Coagulans – Probiotic

Bacillus Coagulans (Lactobacillus Sporogenes)

While most probiotics get destroyed in the stomach by acids and never make it to the digestive tract, this one is different. This powerful strain is proven to pass through the digestive process, survive stomach acids, and reach the intestines, where it is intended to function.

  • Supports a healthy colon
  • Has been clinically shown to help with bloating
  • Promotes strong digestive function

DIGESTIVE ENZYMES are from plant sources, such as pineapples and papayas, that help your body break food down into its individual components, making nutrients easier to absorb. Cooking can destroy foods’ natural digestive enzymes, so there’s a good chance that you don’t get enough of these enzymes in your diet.

TWO KEY DIGESTIVE ENZYMES FOUND IN SHAKEOLOGY ARE:

Bromelian – Disgestive Enzyme

Bromelain
  • Is a mixture of enzymes found                         in pineapples
  • Helps with the digestion of protein
  • Contains natural anti-inflammatory properties
Papain – Digestive Enzyme

Papain
  • Is a protein-cleaving enzyme derived from papaya
  • Used as a digestive aid
  • Helps promote the body’s natural inflammatory response
  • Aids in helping the body dispose of excessive fluid following injury

VITAMINS and MINERALS

Most of us don’t get the complete range of essential vitamins and minerals in our daily diets.              Some important vitamins, such as vitamin C and the B vitamins, are water-soluble, meaning they’re flushed out of your body after a short time and need to be replenished regularly. Others, like vitamin E, can be difficult to get enough of in food. Vegan Shakeology formulas derive all their vitamins and minerals from whole-food ingredients.              And why is that important? Because vitamins and minerals delivered through whole foods are more easily assimilated and recognized by the body than ones derived from isolates. Plus it’s more beneficial that way, since science can’t decipher all the different cofactors nature provides in the fruits and vegetables that make vitamins and minerals do their magic in your body.

Because vitamins and minerals found in the fruits and vegetables we use vary from season to season, or even from tree to tree, you won’t see the vitamins and minerals listed on the ingredient label on the back of the bag. Our other Shakeology formulas (the non-vegan ones) are fortified with added vitamins and minerals, so that’s why you’ll see them listed on the back of the bag. While some people feel they need added vitamin and mineral fortification, others prefer to get their vitamins and minerals only from the natural levels found in whole foods. The choice is up to you. That’s why we have both to choose from.

HIMALAYAN SALT

Untouched, unrefined, and unbelievably good for you—Himalayan salt is needed for hydration. Himalayan Salt Salt. We’ve been taught that it’s bad for us and to use it sparingly. But what most people don’t know is that there’s a HUGE difference between traditional table salt (which IS bad for you) and Himalayan salt (which is incredibly good for you). Traditional table salt (iodized salt) is bleached and chemically altered, and can create some serious health risks. All the negative health reports you hear about salt is referring to that fine, granular stuff most of us grew up with. Not Himalayan salt—the kind that’s in Shakeology. Himalayan salt is one of the best things we can put into our bodies because it contains more than 70 trace minerals absorbed naturally from the Earth over thousands of years. It’s salt the way nature intended it. Our bodies are superconductors.              If you don’t have salt, your whole primary operating system doesn’t work. Think of your 70 trillion cells as batteries. If you don’t have salt and electrolytes, those cells won’t work. Instead, you use up the glycogen in the cells and they acidify. You don’t know what’s happening. You start feeling not so great. You get adrenal fatigue. Cholesterol goes up. And your immune system doesn’t work as well. So you body needs salt. But only the good kind.
